February 2026 – A Gateway of Release and Renewal
We stand in the afterglow of a solar eclipse, under a new moon, as the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse steps forward with unmistakable momentum.
You may feel it.
The review.
The release.
The quiet exhaustion that comes after deep inner work.
This eclipse has not been subtle. It has asked us to look closely. To notice what is no longer aligned. To admit what we have outgrown. And to gently, or not so gently, let it go.
This morning, I did something simple. I wrote down what I wanted to release, old thoughts, patterns, identities…and after the eclipse, I tore the paper into pieces. A small act. A symbolic act. But sometimes symbolism speaks directly to the subconscious, and the body listens.
And the body is listening right now.
If you are feeling emotional, tender, tired, or unsettled, be patient with yourself. When we release energetically, the body must also be released. It integrates what the soul has already chosen.
Fear Is a Gateway
I came across these words that feel perfect for this moment:
“Even if my boots shake and my voice quakes, fear is only a gateway back to freedom and liberation of myself.
My liberation is worth every ounce of fear I feel as I make one small step toward breaking free from bondage.”
Isn’t that beautiful?
Fear does not mean stop.
Fear does not mean failure.
Fear often means you are walking toward liberation.
The Fire Horse energy entering now carries momentum, courage, and forward movement. But we cannot carry the old structures into this next phase. They would collapse at the speed of what is coming.
So, we release.
We breathe.
We step anyway.
Rumi and the Light Beginning Again
I also revisited Rumi’s poem, Wake and Walk Out.
His imagery is luminous. He reminds us that without grief, without grace, without light, nothing would move. Nothing would matter.
And then he says:
“If light were not beginning again in the east,
I would not now wake and walk out inside this dawn.”
Light begins again.
Every single day.
Even when we feel buried in the weight of transformation, the dawn is still forming. The rose garden still exists. Grace still moves through us whether we see it or not.
Body, the Spring, and Momentum
We are entering a new phase of momentum.
The Fire Horse does not creep forward. It runs.
But before the run, there is integration. There is tenderness. There is honoring what has just been shed.
Be kind to yourself.
Your nervous system is recalibrating.
Your cells are reorganizing.
Your inner structures are rebuilding.
Think of spring. The ground looks barren before the green shoots appear. But beneath the surface, everything is preparing.
So hang in there.
Be patient.
Be gentle.
Trust the work you have done.
Fear may shake your boots and quiver your voice, but it may also be the doorway to your freedom.
And remember…
Light begins again in the east.
And so do you.
